Meet Our Icelandic Horses
There is always something happening at our stables! Hafeti, Faxi, Vök, Karmen and Ebba are much-loved members of the Waldhof family, each bringing their own personality to everyday life. From the calm and easy-going to the cheeky and playful, each of our five Icelandic horses has a mind of their own – and that is what makes them such a special herd.
Our indoor riding arena offers horse lovers of all ages the chance to discover horse riding, enjoy their first moments in the saddle or develop their skills. Every session centres on the joy of riding and building a trusting bond with your horse.

Hafeti was the first horse to call our stables home and is still the gentlest of the herd. His calm, patient nature helps even our youngest riders feel safe and confident. A true heart-stealer on four hooves.
The Casanova
Faxi has called Waldhof home for almost as long as Hafeti and has plenty of personality. He is confident, occasionally a little cheeky and always up for some fun. With a particular fondness for the mares, he certainly lives up to his reputation as our little Casanova. He is also wonderfully patient and gentle with children – which is exactly why our guests love him.
The Boss
If anyone is in charge at the stables, it is Vök. As the leader of the herd, she likes to take the reins and keep everyone in line. Behind that confident nature, though, is an incredibly gentle and patient soul. Children in particular quickly feel at ease with Vök, thanks to her calm, relaxed manner.
The Silver Mane
Karmen is the beauty of our herd. With her gorgeous chestnut coat and striking silver mane, she turns heads wherever she goes. Luckily, she has no idea how pretty she is – despite her star quality, she is wonderfully sweet and easy-going.
The Little Mischief-Maker
As the youngest member of our horse family, Ebba brings fresh energy to the stables. Curious, lively and sometimes a little cheeky, she loves exploring her surroundings and never fails to make us smile. With her charming personality and playful nature, she wins our guests’ hearts in no time.

Meet Kiara
Kiara brings years of experience and a deep understanding of horses to every lesson. She knows that every horse and rider is different, and takes care to bring out the best in each partnership. With her expertise and intuitive feel for both horse and rider, she helps children and adults work towards their individual goals.
Whether it is your first time in the saddle or you already have riding experience, Kiara takes the time to get to know you and tailor each lesson to your ability. Step by step, you will feel more at ease, grow in confidence and discover the joy of riding.
Meet Karina
With warmth, patience and a passion for horses, Karina helps our guests make the most of their riding experience at Waldhof. For her, riding is as much about the special bond between horse and rider as it is about time in the saddle.
Whether you are meeting horses for the first time or building on your existing riding skills, Karina creates a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where children and adults alike can feel at ease and discover the joy of riding.

Lunge Lessons
30 minutes | €35
Ideal for beginners and anyone new to riding, a lunge lesson offers a gentle introduction to life in the saddle. Our riding instructor guides the horse on a lunge line, offering patient support as you take your first steps. This allows you to build confidence and get used to the feeling of riding.
Private riding lessons are available for children aged four and over, as well as adults. If you have any questions about getting started, we will be happy to advise you..
Do I need any previous riding experience?
No, complete beginners are very welcome. Lunge lessons are designed for those with no previous riding experience. Our riding instructions will be happy to recommend the right type of lesson for you.
What should I wear for my riding lesson?
Please wear sturdy footwear with a good grip and long trousers. If you have your own riding clothes or equipment, you are welcome to bring and use them.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes, a riding helmet must be worn at all times while riding. Helmets are provided, so there is no need to bring your own.
Can I book a riding lesson if I am not staying at Waldhof?
Yes, riding lessons are also available to guests who are not staying at Waldhof. The same rates apply to everyone.
Where do the riding lessons take place?
Lessons take place in our on-site indoor riding arena, so you can enjoy riding whatever the weather.
